There is something about muffins that I absolutely love. They are usually quick and easy to whip up and don’t take long in the oven. Muffins are also a really great grab-and-go snack. Where I take issue with muffins is that they are usually loaded with calories with very little nutritional value. This is why I’ve created the double chocolate protein muffin. They’re light on calories, higher in protein and sooo easy to make.

Ever since I have discovered the magic of greek yogurt muffins, I haven’t been able to slow my muffin creating. These double chocolate protein muffins are surprisingly moist and only 106 calories. That’s a delicious, guilt-free snack if I’ve ever heard of one!
This recipe uses unsweetened cocoa powder. My favourite unsweetened cocoa powder is this one. These double chocolate protein muffins also call for chocolate protein powder. My favourite brand of vegan protein powder is Vega One Chocolate protein powder and that’s what I’ve used in this recipe. You can read my review of the best and worst protein powders here.

Chocolate will always have a soft spot in my heart. If I can have chocolate and protein at the same time, it’s a win for me! Even better if it’s quick, easy and I can grab it and go.

Can you freeze these once they’re cooked please? Thanks
Hi Leanne, absolutely you can freeze them! In an air tight container for up to 4 months. I haven’t personally frozen them though, so I can’t speak to the texture when they are thawed. 🙂
